Do faceless TikTok slideshows work for a new business?
Not yet for us: 13 faceless TikTok slideshows across 4 new accounts got 742 views and no sign-ups in their first two days, but hooks that name the viewer's own situation beat product pitches. Below is the whole experiment, run by Standard Grow on itself, with every number linked to where we read it.
Standard Grow, by Standard Trade, is a number you text a reel to. It sends back ads and a budget for your business, runs them once you approve, and reports what they brought in.
What we found
- 13 slideshows posted across 4 TikTok accounts on 26 and 27 October 2026 earned 742 views in total. (TikTok, checked 27 Oct 2026)
- The best post, “I saved 847 reels about growing my business. I tried zero of them.”, got 138 views. It opens on a buyer's situation, not the product. (@standard_growth_guru on TikTok, checked 27 Oct 2026)
- The 3 direct product pitches (“text us a tip, we run it”) got 107, 93, 49 views. (TikTok, checked 27 Oct 2026)
- Every established @trade.evidence post asking a Canton Fair buyer's question got at least 87 views; the median for that account is 98. (@trade.evidence on TikTok, checked 27 Oct 2026)
- From 03:00 UTC on 27 October, every post on @standard.grow and @growthforbusiness got 0 views, while the other two accounts posting in the same minutes kept getting views. (@standard.grow on TikTok, checked 27 Oct 2026)
- The site recorded 2 sign-ups since tracking started on 26 October, both from direct visits and none from TikTok. (growth ledger, checked 27 Oct 2026)
- Scratch AI, the golf app this playbook comes from, says it got 20,000+ downloads in its first 30 days from faceless slideshows. That number is self-reported. (source reel, checked 27 Oct 2026)
The reel we started from
Ryan Bartkiewicz's reel “Getting 10,000 downloads with your app is so easy” shows Scratch AI growing with faceless TikTok photo slideshows posted from several accounts every day. Why it works:
- Hook: slide 1 earns the swipe by naming the viewer's situation, not the product.
- Format: photo slideshows, no face, no voice. Every slide stands alone.
- Offer: the product appears only on the last slide.
- Distribution: volume across several accounts so the algorithm can find the hooks that travel.
Our version, budget and win condition
Four accounts that openly promote our products: three for Standard Grow and @trade.evidence for Trade Evidence, our Canton Fair supplier search. Four slide-1 angles: buyer situation, direct pitch, tip, buyer question. Budget: $0, organic only. A win is a hook that clears 500 views and sends at least one person who texts us a reel; under 100 views, the hook is cut.

What we changed
We now post each account at least 30 minutes apart and give each its own look, since two new same-brand accounts posting near-identical slides seconds apart likely looked coordinated. The tip angle never got a fair test for that reason. Next: the buyer-situation angle on every account, with a last slide that asks for one thing, the reel you saved.
Questions
Do faceless TikTok slideshows work for a new business?
Not yet in our test: 13 slideshows on 4 new accounts got 742 views and no sign-ups in two days. Hooks naming the viewer's own situation did best, at up to 138 views.
How many views does a new TikTok account get on a slideshow?
Ours got 0 to 138 views per post in the first two days. Median views per account ranged from 0 to 98.
Why do my TikTok slideshows get 0 views?
In our case two new accounts from the same brand posted near-identical slides seconds apart and both dropped to 0 views at once. Posting 30+ minutes apart with a distinct look per account is our fix.
How much does a TikTok slideshow test cost?
Our test cost $0 in ad spend. It was organic posts only.
